ToinvestigatethephytochemicalsandtheanticonvulsantactivityoftheethanolleafextractofCulcasiafalcifoliausedinthetraditionalmedicaltreatmentofepilepsy.Methodology:ThephytochemicalscreeningwascarriedoutusingstandardprotocolwhiletheanticonvulsantactivitywasstudiedusingPentylenetetrazoleinmice.Result:ThepreliminaryphytochemicalscreeningcarriedoutontheethanolextractofCulcasiafalcifoliarevealedthepresenceofalkaloids,flavonoids,saponins,tannins,polyphenols,andglycosides.Intheanticonvulsantactivity,therewasasignificant(*p<0.05,**p<0.01)increaseinthemeanlatencyoftonicconvulsion(243.72±6.90*,402.56±5.52**)andsignificant(*p<0.05,OriginalResearchArticle
