The use of biotechnology as a poverty alleviation strategy

Abstract

The application of biotechnology in agriculture in the Lake Victoria region in Kenya is discussed. Some tissue culture and genetic transformation strategies applied are described. The risks of genetic modification in plants are mentioned.
