    Abstract/Overview
    Senna spectabilis is a medium to large tree belonging to the family fabaceae. It is native to Southern America. The plant has several economic importances such as construction materials and wood carvings. In agroforestry systems, the plant is used as a hedgerow species, shade tree, living fence, fodder, mulch, fuel wood and as a source of honey. Propagation of Senna spectabilis is by seeds. Seedling germination and seedling emergence is affected by several factors including soil temperature, light and soil depth. The depth of sowing is one of the important factors influencing seed germination of many plant species. Several researchers have worked on this aspect for other plants, but no research has investigated on the effect of sowing depth on germination and growth of Senna spectabilis.
