dc.description.abstractThis proceedings contains twenty papers presented at the Cluster Workshop, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 30 November to 2 December 2011. The papers detail natural resources management and land use in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya. Specifically, the papers discuss trends in livestock production systems and their impact on the environment and livelihoods; community strategies in improving environment and land use management; trends in natural resources degradation; effects of periodic flooding and sedimentation on livelihoods; effects of land use and climate changes on hydrological processes in rivers; status of pollutants in feeds and ruminant products from the urban and peri-urban areas; and pro-poor tourism training for rural economic linkages.en_US
